Cabbage Soup Diet Recipe

If you have to lose weight fast for a special occasion, the cabbage soup diet may be the way that you're looking for.

Cabbage soup is a low calorie diet (800-1000 calories per day) designed for fast weight loss. Despite a large number of people following the diet, no one had been taking the credit for inventing this popular diet plan. It seem that the cabbage soup diet recipe had been passing from one generation to the next gneration by dieters through word of mouth. Because of this, there are many different versions of the diet, whether it is a new or old version, all of them are base around a simple recipe called the cabbage soup diet recipe.

The cabbage soup diet recipe is a low-fat, high-fiber diet that will help you get into shape fast before you embark on a more moderate long-term eating plan. but not suitable for long-term weight loss. It relies on eating a specific combinations of food for 7 days. Eat as much cabbage soup as you desire for 7 days. As with any other diet, if you have any health concerns you should consult the doctor.

Cabbage Soup Diet Recipe

  • 6 large green onions
  • 2 large green peppers
  • 1 or 2 cans (standard size) of tomatoes (diced or whole)
  • 3 carrots
  • 1 can (10 ounce or so) of Mushrooms
  • 1 bunch of celery
  • half of a cabbage head
  • 1 pack of Lipton soup mix
  • 1 or 2 cubes of bouillon (optional)
  • 1 48ounce can V8 juice (optional)
  • Season to taste with salt, pepper, garlic powder, parsley, curry, etc. for added flavor

Directions:

  • Chop green onions, put the sliced onions in a pot and start to saute with cooking oil spray.
  • Prepare the green pepper stem end off and cut in half, take the seeds and membrane out. Chop the green pepper into bite size pieces and add to pot with the sauteed onions.
  • Take the outer leafs layers off the cabbage, cut into bite size pieces, then add them to the pot.
  • Clean carrots, Peel and cut into bite size pieces, and add them to the pot.
  • Keep the mushrooms a good size. Slice mushrooms into thick slices, add to pot.
  • If you want your soup to be a little spicy, add a small amount of curry powder or cayenne pepper now.
  • You can use chicken or beef bouillon cubes for seasonings. These have all the salt and flavors you will need.
  • Add about 12 cups of water (or 8 cups and the V8 juice), cover and turn the heat to low. Let soup cook for a long time - about 2 hours works well. Season to taste with pepper and salt.

Cabbage Soup Diet Plan

1st Day

Eat your cabbage soup with all the fruits you want, except for bananas. Unsweetened tea, black coffee, cranberry juice, or water are the only drinks that can be taken. Eat as much soup as you like.

2nd Day

Vegetable is a big part of 2nd day. You can eat all you want - fresh, raw, or cooked vegetables of your choice as much as you like along with your soup. Try to pile up on leafy dark vegetables while avoiding those dry beans, peas, and sweet corn. During supper, a big baked potato with butter for dinner. Eat as much soup as you like but no fruit for today.

3rd Day

Mix one and two: Incorporate the essentials found in the days one and two, but no baked potato. Eat as much vegetables and fruits that you want to on 3rd day together with your cabbage soup.

4th Day

You may have to eating a lot of bananas on this day. Eat as many as eight bananas and drink as many glasses of skim milk as you can on this day, eating it together with your cabbage soup. The 4th day is supposed to lessen your desire for sweets

5th Day

Start including a large tin or up to six fresh tomatoes and between 10-20 ounces of beef (300-500 gram) with your cabbage soup. Drink between a minimum of 6 to 8 glasses of water. This will aid in removing the Uric Acid from your body. Eat your soup at least once today. If you don't like beef, you may eat broiled or baked chicken (skinless) instead. If you prefer, you can substitute broiled fish for the beef.

6th Day

All the beef you can eat plus vegetables: Together with your soup, you can eat as much beef and vegetables as you like on the 6th day of the cabbage soup diet. You can consume up to 2 or 3 steaks if you want together

Eat beef and vegetables with your cabbage soup as much as you like today. You can even have 2 or 3 steaks if you like, with your leafy dark green vegetables or salad. No baked potato today. Be sure to eat your soup at least once today.

7th Day

Eat all you want of brown rice, drinking unsweetened and fresh fruit juices with your vegetables. Be sure to eat your soup at least once today. No bread, alcohol, beverages, not even diet soda.
